Resin Product Care Guide

Keeping Your Resin Creation Beautiful 🩷

Thank you for choosing Resin & Beyond Studio! Every piece is handmade with care, and I want you to enjoy your resin creation for as long as possible.

With a little care and attention, you can help protect its appearance and reduce the risk of damage.

1. Cleaning Your Resin Item

How to keep your resin creation clean:

  • Use a soft, dry microfibre cloth to remove dust.

  • If necessary, use a soft cloth that is slightly damp with water.

  • Dry the item gently after cleaning.

  • Avoid abrasive sponges, scouring pads and rough cloths that could scratch the surface.

  • Do not soak your item in water unless the specific product has been confirmed suitable for this.

Avoid bleach, acetone, strong solvents and harsh cleaning products, as these may damage the resin or its decorative finish.

2. Avoid Excessive Heat

Resin can soften, warp or become damaged when exposed to excessive heat. Please make sure you:

  • Keep your item away from radiators, heaters and other heat sources.

  • Never place it on a hot surface.

  • Keep it away from open flames.

  • Do not leave it in a hot car or another area where temperatures may become excessive.

Resin ornaments and decorative trays should not be used as heat-resistant surfaces unless the specific product has been tested and expressly confirmed suitable for that purpose.

3. Protect Your Item From Sunlight

Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can cause some resin pieces and pigments to fade, discolour or change appearance over time. For best results, display your creation indoors and away from prolonged direct sunlight.

This is particularly important for colourful pieces, glitter designs and items containing decorative materials.

4. Handle With Care

Although cured resin can be durable, it is not indestructible. To help prevent damage:

  • Avoid dropping your item.

  • Do not throw, bend or deliberately apply pressure to it.

  • Handle delicate parts, such as dragon wings, tails and other projecting details, carefully.

  • Avoid knocking your creation against hard surfaces.

  • Store it somewhere secure when not in use.

Some designs may have thin or delicate sections that are more vulnerable to breakage.

5. Decorative Use Only

Unless a product listing specifically states otherwise, my resin creations are intended for decorative purposes.

  • Do not use decorative resin items for preparing, serving or storing food.

  • Do not use them as drinking vessels.

  • Do not place hot pans, mugs or other hot objects on them.

  • Do not use them as candle holders or place burning candles directly on them.

  • Do not assume an item is waterproof, heatproof or food-safe unless this has been specifically confirmed for that product.

A resin tray may look beautiful displaying jewellery, crystals or other small decorative items, however, its suitability will depend on the individual design and intended use.

6. Keep Away From Young Children and Pets

Resin ornaments are not toys unless a product listing explicitly states otherwise.

Keep them out of reach of young children and pets, particularly where small pieces could break off and present a choking hazard.

If an item breaks, handle the fragments carefully and keep them away from children and animals.

7. Storage

If you need to store your resin creation, choose a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and excessive heat.

Where possible:

  • Store the item away from heavy objects that could fall onto it.

  • Avoid placing pressure on delicate details.

  • Protect it from knocks and scratches.

  • Keep it separate from sharp or abrasive objects.

For more delicate creations, wrapping the item in soft protective material can help prevent scratches during storage.

8. Handmade Variations

Every Resin & Beyond Studio creation is individually handmade. Small differences in colour, patterns, glitter distribution and other decorative details are a natural part of the process. These variations are part of what makes handmade resin creations unique.

If you believe your item has a fault or has been damaged, please contact me so I can help.
